I have such nice memories of Carol.  She was a sweet girl and we enjoyed each other.  I also remember the morning after the accident and finding out that she had died.  It was such sad news.

Carol was my cousin and I was in the accident with her. It changed me in many ways. Carol was a very "special" person who had a sweet disposition and was a very caring person. Her life was cut very short, but her spirit has lived on, in all of her family.

My memories of Carol are mostly from our shared love of tennis. We were often doubles partners, and, as frequently, competitors. We'd cut thru back yards to each other's house in our tennis whites, before or after a match. Her death and that of our mutual mentor and coach, George Jennings, had a profound impact on my life.

I also remember hearing in school the next day about the accident.  It still doesn't seem real to me.  She was so young.  We were so young, to understand it. Linda  Warshauer, my heart goes out to you, having been in the accident.  What a life altering event.  God Bless!

I too miss Carol and her family. We were very close, double dating, hanging out, traveling. I was supposed to be at dinner at Hackney's also, but for some reason, declined the invitation due to other plans. My dad woke me gently the next morning after the Belofsky's phoned to tell us the news. I tried to be brave and went to school that morning, but went home around 11am. I was shaken to my very being and her death changed my life forever. Sara Domash Friedman.

My heart breaks every time I read this obituary. Carol was so smart and so pretty as well. She was an inspiration. That is not to take away from the memories of the other classmates whose names have been listed. All are special and memorable to me - Schmikler, Gerchenson, Superfine, Fields, Fell, Schranz, Leslie Podell, Max, Atlas to name a few. In my heart I have loved them all.

I don't know why, but recently I've been receiving "In Memory" comments that classmates have contributed to the HPHS website.  So it seems that the universe is telling me to write something.  I remember being very good friends with Carol Belofsky - getting together afterschool, on Saturdays, and doing sleepovers.  I was shocked and crushed by the news of her death.  I cannot telll you the number of times I think of her as my car's rearview camera comes on to make sure everything's clear behind me.  So young.  So tragic.
