Mike and I used to play pool in his basement while listening to Beach Boy records!  He was a kind soul with a big heart.  About 10-15 years ago I was visiting my mom and happened to see Mike's dad at the Convenient Food Mart.  I may have only seen Mr. Gerchenson three or four times in my life but I immediately recognized him.  What struck me in that brief encounter is that he looked so sad.  I approached him and told him how much fun Mike and I used to have at his house and while playing ball at Braeside and those thoughts seemed to bring him joy.  I'm not sure if he's still with us or maybe he's catching up with Mike but I'm glad we had that chance meeting.  We miss you, "Gerch."

Mike and I along with Dennie Loesch, Candy Seltzer, Ruth Larner and others used to eat lunch together.  He was always cheerful and loyal to people he liked.  I heard he had died and the manner in witch he died from my parents who called me immediatly at my dorm when I was away at University.  They didn't want me to hear it accidently.  It was and is a travesty!  He was a fine human being and is missed.

Michael was a kind hearted and good humored friend. He worked hard and always managed to smile and create friendship and warmth. He is missed.
